This show just hit the television world and its a interesting for sure. This fun remake of the classic Munsters is nothing like its old counterpart, except in title and characters. There is a lot of new spins and a life breathed into it that is exciting and creative.

Jerry O’Connell plays, as a frankenstein. Portia De Rossi plays Lily, a Vampire. Eddie Izzard plays the delightful Grandpa, a vampire. Mason Cook plays Eddie, a child werewolf and Charity Wakefield plays the normal nonmonster. Each portraying a character from the original series, but each with there own spin on the character.

One thing you will find quite different from the original is Grandpa is quite violent. That’s the one big complaint I have heard on the show that people aren’t too keen on. I understand that they are pressing to keep up with todays television/movie style, but it’s not necessary and in my opinion might end up being the shows downfall since a lot of people who might catch this version were probably fans of the original.

If you never watched the Munsters you can come at this show with a free mind and might truly enjoy a kooky family and all the hyjinks the show has to offer. I’m still on the fence, we’ve only had one episode so far, so I can’t say which way I’m swayed yet, but I will continue watching it. If only for Spot.

I fell in love with this movie.. mostly because I can relate to it, my father was a minor league baseball player on his way to the big leagues. And I his child who desperately wanted to spend time with him. Not that my father was anywhere near as bad as the father in this film, I could relate to it on a level that made me enjoy it a lot more. My boyfriend watched it with me and really enjoyed it for the storyline. It was truly well written.

The film is about an aging baseball scout, who’s eyes are failing him. His lawyer daughter is called in to help him out by a close friend. She comes down to help him while she is in the middle of trying to get a promotion at work. So the situation is strained for both of them, he not wanting to admit he may be having issues and her in she doesn’t want to be away from work because of all that is going on. She meets a nice guy who used to be a player who is now a scout. It’s a good story, and its all about family and learning to prioritize what is important in life and what is not.

Amy Adams plays the daughter who is trying too hard to get her fathers attention, Clint Eastwood plays the aging father who is angry witht the fact that he is losing his eyesight. Then we have Justin Timberlake who plays the young player who lost his career to an injury who is now a scout. The story is really well written. I also felt the acting was of high quality. Everyone was enjoyable to watch and played the parts they were given in a great way.

I really liked this comedy/drama in that is was worth the cost of tickets. But now that its mostly out of theatres, I am going to say this is definitely a rental night. Great for family time or for with friends.

This action film is based on a time when we have time travel. I know it’s something a lot of us think of. The film is about loopers, which are people who kill for the mob. The mob sends a person back in time 30 years and the loopers kill and dispose of the body so the mob gets a clean kill and they get paid nicely to do so. Our main character Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) finds out the mob has decided to close his loop so to speak and sends his future self to him to kill. The only problem is Joe’s future self (played by Bruce Willis) is ready for this and comes back with a plan. He gets away from Joe and goes on a spree to take out the future leader of the mob.

Both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis put on fine performances. Emily Blunt is great and crazy in her role and the little boy is real good too. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this film but I did. I really enjoyed the storyline and the fact that even though you could guess what was coming next, most of the time you were surprised because it took a twist you weren’t expecting. The story writing was well done, the acting was done nicely and it all flowed like a good film should.

I will say the end bothered me just in the decisions of the characters. I don’t want to give away important things because it’s more fun to experience them then to be told them in advance. I get bothered a lot by characters in movies making choices that aren’t the smartest but I know it is the writers choices to make a story flow the way they feel it should.

I would say take a chance on this one. It’s not bad at all. It’s action packed, story is pretty solid and the characters are interesting enough to keep you intrigued throughout the film. Date night, night out with the guys, or when it hits DVD a night in with friends.

So I went to see this even though I was slightly worried it might be a flop and a waste of my time, and amazingly enough it wasn’t. It was quite a fun and enjoyable movie. It’s truly a family film about wanting the best for your kids and in trying to do so , learning from your mistakes. I’m not a mom but I can relate with the young character and with Dracula because I have felt the desire to do things because I was afraid of someone getting hurt and in the end realized my choice wasn’t a good one.

Dracula makes a hotel just for monsters and throws his daughters 118th birthday party and invites everyone to enjoy the festivities. He’s so afraid of fun and enjoyment until a human shows up and shakes things up. Dracula must try to hide the boys identity so that none of the monsters know he has them all convinced humans are completely evil. Tides change and he learns a valuable lesson in parenting. I don’t want to give too much away.

The voice actors are all characters and really play up to the monsters they portray. I really love the werewolves, they are truly my favorite. Everyone does a great job in the parts they play. If you haven’t had a chance to check this one out, it’s a lot of fun for the family or a fun date night.

I made it out to Dredd last night, I had really wanted to see it earlier but we promised a friend we would take him and our shedules never lined up. So we finally made the trek down and got to see it. This was one remake I was really looking forward to because the original was more campy and fun then what I would want. This movie was a more gritty realistic version. That made me super happy. It was a great action film and the main character our one and only Judge Dredd played his part so well. I even liked the rookie, she looked the part and her acting was pretty spot on. I was not disappointed in the acting of our main characters at all.

I loved MaMa.. Lena Headey was fantastic as the crazy sadistic controller of the block style gang leader. She was wonderful to watch on screen, you got to see the inside of her head and the way she thought through things. I think she was the best acted character in the film, with Karl Urban as Judge Dredd falling in a close second.

The film is about a time when the world has fallen to a toxic wasteland and justice is given out by the law of Judges. Sometimes on scene or you are taken off to the cubes. This film centers on Judge Dredd taking Judge Anderson a rookie out for her test to become a full fledged Judge. She hasnt done well in the school, but the academy is willing to skip that because she is a psychic. The two end up in the wrong battle when they go in for a bust on a triple homicide that leaves them trapped in a 200 story building with no where to go and mulitple gangs after them at the order of Ma-Ma.

It has a lot of gore in the style of Kick Ass, Inglorious Bastards, the over the top gore style killings and blood just for the sake of it. The only thing that really buzzed me and dropped my enjoyment of the film was the “Slow mo” drug, they had in my opinion too much time to effects of the drug. The scenes felt like they were filler. My only real complaint over the whole movie.

If you are a lover of the Comic Book, love comic book movies, good fun action films or need something a little different give this one a try. It’s enjoyable and will leave you glad you live in the time and place that you do.

Gone starring Amanda Seyfried is a thriller about a girl who was abducted by a man, who no one believes the story of, and then her sister is abducted by the same man and she is in a race against the clock and police to find this guy before he kills her sister. She knows he has killed before and that she is the only girl to have ever escaped and she doesn’t want her sister to be the next victim.

The movie drags a bit in places and seems predictible in others. It really does keep you guessing and each time you’ve figured it out you come to find out you were wrong. The only thing that I found to be annoying is something a lot of movies do, which is unrealistic ways things would be handled with the police, but in a movie I always try to give a bit of leeway.

The movie overall isnt too badly written, the story keeps you interested, the characters keep you watching and as the film goes it entrigues you enough to keep you wanting to find out what is going to happen. It is worth the couple of bucks you might spend to rent the film at like Redbox or Blockbuster. It is nothing too special but definitely something that can keep your attention.

I went out to the theatre to see Magic Mike, mostly because I am female and I like the idea of seeing the male actors in no clothing. I find Matt Bomer, Channing Tatum, and Joe Manganaiello to all be extremely hot.

The storyline was nothing special but it wasn’t terrible. I know I would like to have had more loose ends tied up at the end of the movie, but still it was quite enjoyable. I really enjoyed Channing Tatum’s character it was fun to watch him dance.

The dancing was fun. I liked the different dances that the movie came up with, they were pretty sexy. I liked the characters all having personalities each having so much fun with it.

This is in no way a guy type film, but it isn’t so over the top girly that a guy can’t sit through it and enjoy bits and pieces of it. The acting is not terrible, its mediocre but really you are not going to see the movie for the acting and we all know this.

I recommend renting this for a girls night in. Grab some champagne, some makeup, paint your toes and watch the boys shake it for all its worth.

Now lately with all the remakes happening it seems like either we have some really nostalgic folks out there or a lot of lazy studio heads. So now we have Total Recall originally done with The Govenator (or for people outside of California Arnold Swartzneggar). This time we see Colin Farrel, Kate Beckinsale, and Jessica Biel in starring roles.

The film is a science fiction thriller based on a short story by Phillip Dick called we can buy it for you on wholesale. Now in a time far from now where the world has all but been destroyed and we are left with two areas one The Rich - and The Poor - The Colony. The rich use the poor to do all the labor jobs and man the factories to make robots they use like police.

Enter Colin Farrel, your everyday average factory worker with nightmares he can’t escape. His beautiful EMT wife, played by the stunning Kate Beckinsale. You get to follow him as he trys to figure out why he feels like something is missing. The film isn’t anything amazing, it’s mostly subpar compared to a lot of what’s out there now but it isn’t something to just pass up. The action sequences are fun, the characters are interesting, the technology is fun to think about and see in action.

The story has changed a lot since the original film and that’s okay. This film can stand on its own, without having seen the other you aren’t missing much. This is definitely a renter for a night you want some action, some sci fi and a little bit of hot women being badass on your screen.

I am a huge fan of this franchise, most likely because I am the a huge fangirl of Milla Jovovich so with today being my first day off I rushed out to see it. I ended up seeing it in 3D, (I am blind in one eye, so I can’t comment on how it looks since I lack the capability to see the technology. You won’t ever see me talking about if 3D is worth it or not.)

First off I am going to say, none of the recent Resident Evil movies have come close to being the beauty that was the first film, but this film in my thoughts held its own. The CGI is blatant in some points, which bothers me when its overtly obvious that the things aren’t real and are just movie magic. I really can’t wait for the days when CGI looks real, or maybe I just hope for movie makers to move back to the old style of using real people in makeup to perform parts. That took away a little bit of the excitement of the film but the more action a film is the more I understand its appeal for movie makers and can forgive them.

The acting was pretty good for it being a video game, action film, I mean we aren’t talking about amazing acting skills but we are talking far more decent then some action films I have seen. The graphics in some parts were subpar, but the Boss monsters were incredible looking and scary as they should be. Nothing was held back in the thinking up of scary stuff and in bringing in things from the video games themselves.

I think I love the fact that as the movies have progressed and the games have progressed, they have followed some of the game story line and brought in lots of characters for the gamer fan to enjoy and be excited over.

This film ran more like a video game then any of the others and I think that’s one of the things that really did it for me for this film. It had a lot of parts that seemed like they were taken directly out of gameplay and I really enjoyed that style of filming it made it seem like it was being taken back to its roots and be exactly what some of us gamer fans have been searching for in a video game movie (that wasn’t a low budget piece of junk).

You may not love the direction this film went but the action is good, the cameos from different characters is fun and Milla is as always smoking hot. I know who I am going to be cosplaying shortly.

Friday September 14th I had the pleasure of attending the kick off to the Til Death Do Us Part tour, a 5 stop amazing concert series of the incredible band She wants Revenge. One of my top all time favorite bands. Sensual, upbeat dance music, that for me at least is highly relatable. The band had two headliners The Child and The Start. Both bands weren’t bad, but with the heat I opped to sit outside, then in the small packed theatre while they played.

My love for She Wants Revenge came a long time ago back when they only had one album out and were still not so well known, I have followed the progression of the music and band over the years. I have every album on my zune and in my playlist on Spotify. I still fall hard for the first album everytime I hear it.

Remembering that time in my life and the moments I associate with each song. I think that really is the most powerful thing about music you put a moment to a song, a person, a time and it is forever immortalized in your head everytime you hear the opening chords.

The band played a lot of songs from the first and second albums and my heart skipped a beat multiple times hearing songs live for the first time. I really felt the surge of emotions especially hearing songs like “Red Flags and Long Nights, or These Things”. Both songs have touched my heart in ways I can’t even begin to explain truly.

The only thing I was sad about that is in no way the bands fault is the song “Disconnected” Its in my opinion one of the saddest songs I have ever heard and live it just is in no way the same as it is listening to it in a quiet room while feeling melancholy. The rest of the music is upbeat, dance music meant to race your heart and get you moving and even through the heat of the night the room was full of energy and bursting with adoration from the fans.

The band plays again on October 5th and 6th at the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, California and a week later in good olde San Francisco . I will be at one of the nights of the Roxy happily singing along and rocking out to a band I truly love. If you have the night free, a little bit of extra cash, the love of good music, and live in So California you should give them a try if not, then pick up the first album and sit back enjoying the musical talent that is She Wants Revenge.
